Over the last year, these efforts have garnered much attention from numerous design and solution challenges. With its integrated innovative approach, FishNET has gained advocates in ocean conservation and academic circles. As a result of this attention, Shah has had the opportunity to work as a part of a team with a number of compelling solutions from around the world. This included being selected as part of a delegation from the U.S. Department of State to attend the 2011 Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) international negotiation meetings.
Recently, Shah has been contributing to numerous NGOs and non-profit institutions as a consultant technology expert, providing technology research and system design support for environmental issues. In this role, he also advised prior to meetings with ocean technology firms and experts, including an impartial assessment on the technology and its uses.
Shah also helps with Protei, open source oil spill cleaning sailboat development project, that was the brainchild of TED Senior Fellow Cesar Harada and a successful Kickstarter campaign.
